Highlights of a Hi/Low

Earthmoving, water main and storm sewer construction, cast-in-place concrete walls, asphalt and concrete paving, and metal building construction were all a part of constructing a new, two-story drive-up and climate-controlled "hi/low" building within an existing storage property. What is a hi/low? A storage building with a sloped existing grade with drive up access available at both the upper and lower level, and if wide enough, an interior climate-controlled or non-climate corridor can be added. Why a hi/low? Self-storage buildings commonly are hi/lows since they can be two stories without the need for elevators or stairwells, which help keep construction costs low and rentable storage space high. Salzeider, Inc.'s work for Simply Self Storage in West Chester, Pennsylvania was complete in 150 days. This particular 80' x 280' building offers drive-ups and interior climate controlled units on both levels. Not only was this project a success...it also represents one of four Simply Self Storage projects completed by Salzeider, Inc.
